In this webinar, organic advisor Eveline Gill will bring us through the various supports and schemes available for organic horticultural growers in Ireland, providing tips and advice on how to navigate what can be a complex process.

Organic horticultural farmers in Ireland may qualify for several Department of Agriculture supports. This discussion will cover the Organic Farming Scheme, including payments of €800 per hectare during the first two conversion years, €600 per hectare in years three to five, and the available participation payment. It will also explain the annual BISS application process and access to entitlements, CRISS, and Eco-Scheme payments. Finally, we will discuss the 60% grant aid available for eligible investments under the Organic Capital Investment Scheme and horticultural capital schemes.

About Eveline Gill
Eveline Gill is an Organic Advisor with 25 years’ experience supporting clients with mixed farms in completing their annual Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine agricultural scheme payment applications. She has worked with over 50 organic businesses and also supports other advisors with their organic clients.

For the past 24 years, she has also worked as an organic farm and food inspector with the Organic Trust, gaining valuable insight into all forms of agriculture and food production in Ireland. Over the last two seasons, she has helped support over 200 organic cereal farmers supplying Flahavan’s with organic oats. Eveline also delivers 25-hour organic courses with the National Organic Training Skillnet (NOTS).

She holds an MSc in Organic Agriculture from Harper Adams University College, a Diploma in Food Science and Technology from University College Cork, and a Certificate in Agribusiness and Food Law from the Law Society of Ireland. She has recently completed an NFQ Level 6 Certificate in Regenerative Agriculture, with a focus on market gardening, at the Technological University of the Shannon. She is also a farmer, growing organic oats and fertility-building crops.
