BLOOM

OGI at Bloom 2025

We were delighted to be back at Bloom this year, where we joined the team at NOTS in the Eat Well Garden area, giving talks and demonstrations with a great line-up of colleagues from across the organic horticulture sector.

Organics had a stronger presence at this year’s festival, including the launch of an organic show garden, co-developed by Bord Bia and DAFM under the National Organic Strategy implementation plan. This show garden feature will evolve over the next three years to tell the story of organic principles. This year’s garden Nature’s Symphony was designed by Liat and Oliver Schurmann of Mount Venus Nursery. You can watch the video which explains the concept of the garden here.

At the new Eat Well Garden & Polytunnel in the Horticulture is Life area, the NOTS team brought together and excellent line-up of expert-led talks. Speakers gave practical advice and insights on organic growing, including OGI board member Barry Connolly and OGI Internship Coordinator Una Wycherley. Our Network Coordinator Kitty Scully and board member Colm O’Driscoll also appeared at the Horticulture is Life stage over the weekend. The Organic Corner in the Food Village also featured nine Irish organic businesses.

Although still a relatively small part of the show overall, the growing interest from consumers in organic and sustainable food was clearly evident, and the potential for Bloom to provide a platform to better showcase organic growers directly to the public is significant. This is an area we’re eager to help expand and encourage in the coming years. Thanks to Bord Bia, Teagasc, DAFM, and the team at NOTS for all the work and effort that went in to bringing organics to Bloom.
