See firsthand the range and quality of high value crops these two mighty women are producing on little less than an acre in the foothills of the Blackstairs mountains. Not only that, they will share their learnings and experiences, including how systems have evolved over the years paying particular attention to high-value crops and no-dig growing.

The Focus Session in the afternoon will be on: CROP ROTATION FOR HIGH VALUE CROPS and no better farm in Ireland to discuss same with principal commercial crops being lettuce, oriental leaves & spinach. In this session, we will talk through all aspects of rotations in no-dig beds during the summer season. The following topics will be discussed in detail, with a focus on how they contribute to plant health as well as their value in creating efficient workflows:

Tarps in bed prep & talk through the importance of tarps in our system.
Foliar feeds, worm castings, compost and all inputs
Green manures
Woodchip

About Gorse Farm
Gorse Farm located in New Deerpark, Bunclody, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford is an Organic farm located on the outskirts of Bunclody Co. Wexford run by Jenny Watkins and Janet Power. We are organic certified and practice no-dig vegetable growing. We produce the high-quality nutritious produce which we sell in SuperValus & restaurants throughout Wexford.

We grow on less than one acre on a 3-acre site. In addition to growing and eating nutritious and delicious food we are passionate about hedgerows and trees and being good caretakers of the land.

Our core products are mixed salad, spinach & microgreens. We also grow a wide range of seasonal crops which we consume, preserve and share as well as selling to a small number of local chefs.
