About the Farm

The farm went into organic conversion in 2004, and we currently farm on 20 acres of organically certified land, of which 10 acres is under organic vegetable production any given year while the rest consists of a wildlife biodiversity area, native woodland forestry (7000 trees).

We grow 20 different types of crops, both in field scale and under cover. The farm has two tractors, one state of the art, with GPS, and an array of specialized machinery.

We grow protected crops in 7 polytunnels, planting over 1000 tomato plants each season. We grow to sell in our online delivery service, which is the largest in the country, and in our farm shop.

About the Role How many hours work per week are involved? 40-48 hours per week. What is the payment rate? Minimum wage Can be adjusted for the right applicant. There may be the opportunity to continue on after the internship finishes for the right candidate. What are the ideal start/finish dates? Mid-March to end of November, dates are flexible to a degree. We are in a rural area, so personal transport is a benefit as there is no regular public transport. Work ethic and ability to be trusted are the two key attributes sought. Experience in working with protected crops and/or general use of farm machinery would be considered an advantage.
