New Retail Opportunity for Organic Growers
Register your interest for 2027 Retail Supply Pilot Project by Friday, 17th July 2026.
Over recent months, OGI has been working to develop new retail opportunities for Irish organic growers and is delighted to announce a new Retail Supply Pilot planned for 2027.
Following the appointment of our part-time Commercial Development Coordinator, Barry Mac Devitt, earlier this year, OGI has been actively engaging with national retailers to develop new market opportunities for Irish organic produce. The response has been extremely encouraging, with retailers expressing a strong interest in sourcing more high-quality, Irish-grown organic produce.
As a result, we are now developing a pilot project that will bring together a small number of growers to supply one or two agreed crops to a national retailer. The project is expected to be built around a 2–3 year supply commitment, providing greater certainty for growers while establishing the foundations for a longer-term, scalable programme.
This is an opportunity to:
- Develop a direct relationship with the retail sector.
- Secure a more consistent route to market.
- Help shape a collaborative model that could create new opportunities for Irish organic growers in the years ahead.
We are looking for growers who:
- Are certified organic.
- Have the capacity to increase or maintain reliable production.
- Are interested in working collaboratively to supply the retail market.
- Are willing to become Bord Bia approved (SHAS).
- Are current OGI members, or are willing to become members prior to joining the pilot.

If you would like to be considered for the pilot project, please email: development@organicgrowersireland.ie by Friday, 17 July 2026, including:
- A brief description of your farm.
- Your organic certification number.
- Protected cropping area (if applicable).
- Crops currently grown.
- Your current route(s) to market.
- Number of seasons in organic production.
- Any additional information you feel would support your expression of interest.
Following receipt of Expressions of Interest, suitable growers will be contacted to discuss the project in more detail.
This represents an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Irish organic horticulture while building long-term relationships with the retail sector. If this opportunity appeals to you, we would love to hear from you.
