Farm Walk & Focus Session at Riversfield Organic Farm
The third OGI Network member-led Farm Walk & Focus Session of the 2024 season was on Tuesday, June 18th at Riversfield Organic Farm in Callan, Co. Kilkenny, with a focus on field scale and niche crops.
Riversfield Organic Farm is a family run farm growing a wide range of organic vegetables, mostly outdoors in the fields with a smaller selection of crops under cover in polytunnels.
Riversfield have hosted OGI interns over the years but this was the first time that the OGI Network has visited, so needless to say we were beyond excited and very grateful to Vincent for opening his farm gate to us at such a busy time of year.
Unsurprisingly it was a sold out event, so we had a full house, a full day of knowledge exchange in the field, all we were missing was full sunshine!
It’s been a tough 14 months for farmers and growers so big thanks to Vincent for taking the time out to welcome us and to all the growers around the country that attended.
