OGI events for Organic growers - summer farm walk

About OGI

Organic Growers of Ireland was set up in 2008 by growers, for growers. Our mission is to represent, support, grow and educate the growers that contribute to the Irish organic horticultural sector.

Our aim is to build a resilient, interconnected community that can sustain the long-term development of Ireland’s organic horticulture sector.

Our team is made up of five voluntary board members and part-time employees – General Manager, Administrator, Network Coordinator and Internship Coordinator.

Our goals

To provide a strong and united voice for organic growers in Ireland.

To provide support to organic growers across the island of Ireland.

To educate new and existing organic growers, building capacity, enhancing technical skills, efficiency, productivity, and overall sector knowledge.

To represent organic growers in discussions with stakeholder groups & lobby policy makers on behalf of our members.

To collaborate with stakeholders across organic horticulture and farming to strengthen and expand the sector.

To promote and increase awareness of organic horticulture in Ireland & support research into organic horticulture.

What we do

We contribute to the growth of the organic sector through our OGI Internship in Organic Horticulture programme, empowering participants with real on-farm experience, training and a QQI Level 5 in Organic Horticulture.

We support organic growers through OGI Events, delivering an annual program of farm walks, focus sessions, workshops & webinars.

Our annual OGI Conference, held every November, aims to inspire organic growers, providing learning & networking opportunities.

We represent organic horticulture at national level, building links with the Department of Agriculture, Bord Bia, Teagasc & other industry stakeholders, providing a voice for organic growers at the Horticulture Industry Forum & Organic Strategy Forum.
